Apprentice Company Program

The GET Apprentice Company Program brings young professional artists to Georgia Ensemble Theatre for a full season, during which time they work and learn in one of Atlanta’s longest running professional theatres. They leave confident and fully equipped with professional training, support, and thorough understanding of the inner workings of a successful professional theatre company.

The education, training, and hands-on experience our apprentices take part in is invaluable and informative, and makes them more marketable to other professional theatre companies upon their completion of the program.

The Acting Apprentice Company is a group of professional artists whose mission is to bring exceptional theatre to the people of Georgia in every way possible. They are a fearless ensemble of multifaceted theatre artists who work in all aspects of Georgia Ensemble Theatre - you can find them performing in our main stage productions, behind the scenes running crew, in the box office, teaching classes, and performing daily in our Theatre for Young Audiences tour, which serves more than thirty thousand students each year.

For the past 5 years our Leitalift Internship has focused on progressing the careers of young women who seek to become the next generation of arts leaders. It is driven by each Intern's specific interests, and rotates from department to department in the theatre to gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of production including arts administration, education, production and more. Leitalift Interns assist in coordinating theatre events and fundraisers, assist in documenting and record keeping, participate in monthly workshops and see shows for free or at a discount in professional theatres all around Atlanta.

The Leitalift Foundation is located in Roswell, Georgia and primarily operates in the Civic and Social Associations business / industry within the Membership Organizations sector. This organization has been operating for approximately nineteen years and funds continuing education for women.

Our Stage Management Apprenticeship provides aspiring stage managers the chance to work along side Atlanta theatre artists while honing their skills as industry professionals. Over the course of the apprenticeship, the SM Apprentice serves as the Assistant Stage Manager for all our of mainstage season as well as the Stage Manager for the AppCo Appy Hour Showcase. When not in rehearsals or performances, the SM Apprentice also has the opportunity to explore other aspects of theatre that inspire them, whether in production, education, marketing, administration, etc. The SM Apprentice also participates in workshops and gets to see shows for free or at a discount in professional theatres all around Atlanta.
