BIG NEWS:
Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) will present our 2023-2024 mainstage programming at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre!
The Jennie T. Anderson Theatre is part of the Cobb Civic Center Complex on South Marietta Parkway in Marietta. The 606-seat theatre houses a fully-equipped stage and comfortable, stadium-style seating. A part of the Cobb County Parks & Recreation system, the Anderson Theatre hosts rentals for a variety of performing groups as well as producing its own programming, the Overture Series. Georgia Ensemble Theatre will join the Jennie T. as a co-producer of their upcoming Overture Series musical in December, The Light in the Piazza.
In the 2023-2024 season, GET will produce three plays, scheduled for October 27-November 5, 2023, February 16-25, 2024, and April 19-28, 2024, at the Anderson Theatre. Some things aren't changing, and we aren't leaving Roswell entirely! The GET Studio, home of office and classroom space, will remain in its current location on Hembree Parkway in Roswell. There, the Education department will continue to offer training for students from pre-K to adult, while mainstage shows continue to have rehearsal space. GET Travel Teams--professional artists serving schools and senior communities with shows at their locations--will continue to be based at the Studio. The Studio will remain the location for GET administrative offices, and the GET box office will also move into the Studio after April 16. We'll keep posting updates and more information here on our website and our Facebook & Instagram accounts (@gaensemble).
GET has been the Resident Professional Theatre Company at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center since its inception in 1992, the same year in which the facility was opened. The theatre’s contract with the City of Roswell ended with the close of Bright Star on April 16, 2023, as the City shifts its model of rentals and programming. Georgia Ensemble Theatre will continue serving residents of north metro Atlanta and beyond with Mainstage programming in Marietta and Studio/Education programming in Roswell. We remain in conversation with the City in hopes of finding an opportunity to bring a show back to the Cultural Arts Center once or twice a year.
