Georgia Ensemble Theatre Studio: Make Room for All

Georgia Ensemble Theatre & Conservatory is stretching its wings and flying into a whole new future! We’ve signed the lease on our new STUDIO in northern Roswell, and we can’t wait to offer an expanded class schedule, more opportunities for our students to perform, fresh theatrical events for our audience, and a new office space for our administrative team. We will still be presenting our MainStage and FamilyStage series of plays & musicals at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, but all of our education programming will have a new home in North Roswell! This is a thrilling opportunity that has been a long time in the making. It’s such an exciting moment for GET!

While all of that excitement is spilling over, we still have a lot of work ahead of us. Our new studio space once was used by a church, so there are classrooms and a small stage platform already in place, but we’ve had to do a good bit of renovation to make it best suitable for our needs—and this is where you come in!

  • We’ve launched Phase I of our Studio Fundraiser: ROOM TO CREATE with a goal of $20,000 raised by August 31st. The ROOM TO CREATE phase focuses on renovating and equipping classrooms for students of all ages and office space for our staff.
  • Phase II of the Studio Fundraiser is EVERY VOICE HEARD; EVERY FACE SEEN. This effort will focus on building out the studio’s performance space with sound equipment, a lighting system, curtains, and the infrastructure to support those elements. Can you help us make young performers’ dreams come true? We’re raising $30,000 by December 31st to convert what was a warehouse-style meeting hall to a flexible black box theatre.
  • And in Phase III, we’ll take care of making A PLACE FOR EVERYONE with our chair dedication fundraiser, allowing us to purchase 150 plush seats for the audiences we’ll be welcoming.

Your gift will help us install new flooring, complete some interior wall construction, and give everything a fresh coat of paint. You’ll help provide the tools and supplies that teachers, students, and administrators need to do their jobs. And you’ll open up a world of possibilities for young people who want to learn about theatre and create their own art. Because we’ll be in control of every part of this building, we will immediately triple the number of classes we can offer year-round. We’ll have the ability to program small shows like improv and sketch comedy, open-mic nights, performances by our Teen Acting Ensemble troupe, and solo-performer shows. We’ll have room for community events like presentations and storytelling. In the future, we envision a space that welcomes our community and gives everyone room to connect, explore, grow, and create!

In April of 2021, dozens of volunteers came together to begin the renovation process. Over 350 hours of work have been put in by our volunteer team, listed below. They tore out carpet, repaired drywall, painted walls, cleaned bathrooms, and got very dirty while helping us reach the readiness point for opening our summer camp. We are so grateful and amazed at our community’s support in this first effort!

Please join our fundraising effort. If you’d like to be recognized as a Founding or Supporting Sponsor, you can give a one-time gift or pledge to give with a payment plan. Whether you can contribute $5000 or $5, your gift makes a difference in your community. Have questions? We’re happy to chat with you about all your giving options.
